There is actually an old saying that: "the hesitating bite of a tiger won''t be stronger than a determined sting of a bee".

For me, It''s more than just an old saying, one can see profound philosophy behind this.

Turn left or turn right, choose your way and march forward firmly, no hesitation shall be there.

Back to our main topic of today: installation of water jet loom.

I still remember the conversation with one Surat Power loom weaver, at that time, I was marketing our DRDE water jet loom among surat weavers; this gentleman was staring me and listening to my blah blah... he was very patient and nodding and smiling, a true gentleman; when the thirsty got me for a break to grab some chai . He finally replied me something like this: "Look, robert, I know water jet loom is very good stuff to make polyester fabric with good speed and efficiency and less labor use. BUT.... yes, but... I am satisfied with my 200 sets power loom, we got good order for saree fabric, we only do saree fabric, for past 30 years, we are making saree, so we don''t want export order or other garment fabric order. and people are facing boarder issue with water jet saree fabric, my party will not take my cloth, if i make on water jet loom... so we will not think of water jet loom." Like a machine gun, he shoot these words quickly at me who was enjoying a chai, I hadn''t finish the cup yet.... "Can I still finish my chaicoz it tastes good.." I cracked this not-so-funny joke.... Oh ye, this gentleman squeezed a smile....

Shortly, I left this office with regret, not over a failed marketing work, but over the hopeless feeling that this gentleman made feel, which is symbolic of many surat weavers, and which is symbolic of many of us in our own work and life.

That is: say NAY to new things, Hate change and innovation. People will find 1000 excuses for not doing something, but will not try to find one way to do something.

Continue with my story, after one year, this gentleman called me again, complaining the very bad market for power loom due to weak economy and dumping of cheap fabric from China.....

Well, I m no expert in economy, and unable to provide a solution for this dilemma. But I know one simple fact that is power loom is a sign of out-aged production technology, with more labor use, land consumption and less productivity. 

And water jet loom, in spite of its water consumption issue, which is under control by universal water treatment plant, is the best machine to produce polyester/nylon fabric.

You do not have to like it, you do not have to hate it, it''s simply the way, the right way.
